June 28, 1985 ~ May 30, 2022 (age 36) 36 Years Old

Tribute

Corey Jay McCarthy, 36, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2022.

Corey was born on June 28, 1985 in Toledo, Ohio. He attended South Johnston High School and went on to eventually own and operate his own business Converting Cabinets. Corey was a member at Aletheia Fellowship and often attended The Summit Church. He was also active at Converting Hearts Ministry. Corey was blessed to be a recipient of the ministry that points men who struggle with addiction to Jesus Christ and God's word as their ultimate deliverance. He passed on his hope and knowledge of God's promises to all who would listen.

Corey loved basketball, and golf, and was an avid fan of the Carolina Hurricanes. He was a talented artist and an expert craftsman of ceramic tile and home renovations. His work added beauty to many homes and he counted his work as an offering to God.

Second only to God was Corey’s dedication and intense love for his only child Ayden Jay. The pride he took in Ayden was indescribable.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandparents John Robert and Madaline Elaine McCarthy; grandfather Michael John Kimmerly; Great Grandma Kimmerly; and brother Michael John McCarthy.

He is survived by his son Ayden Jay McCarthy; sister Adrienne Jones and brother-in-law Adam Jones; nephew George Brewer Jr. and niece Aaliyah Brewer; sister Autumn Creech; mother Melissa Kimmerly; Father Michael McCarthy and step-mother Alisa McCarthy; nephew Michael John McCarthy II; niece Ariana McCarthy; Grandmother Alisia Ruiz and girlfriend Dee Dee Justice along with many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged Corey in his journey on this earth. While his journey here is complete he lives on in his eternal home with his savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
