Glynn Sigrest Roberson

Mrs. Glynn Sigrest Roberson lived a wonderful life and was greatly loved by her husband, Rudy, her four children, and her seven grandchildren. She was born and raised in Flora, Mississippi by her parents Dr. E. A. and Myrtle Sigrest with her two older brothers, Sonny and Bob Sigrest and her half-brothers JB and Marion, and half-sister Norrine.

She graduated as valedictorian from Flora High School and went to Mississippi College in Clinton MS for her bachelors and later in life received her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA.

Glynn was a vibrant and uplifting Christian who loved and served God her whole life. She was active in her church, Wake Forest Baptist, and spent many years serving the blind as a member of the Raleigh Lion’s Club. She was a huge fan, supporter and season ticket holder of NC State Women’s Basketball.

Her children will remember her most for being a loving mother who was always there, loved them unconditionally and who set a great example for how to live an amazing life.

Glynn is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dr. E. A. and Mrs Myrtle Sigrest; brothers Dr. Marion "Sonny" Sigrest and Robert "Bob" Sigrest; half-brothers E.A. Sigrest Jr, JB Sigrest; and half-sister Norrine Nealy.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Spraker and husband Greg and their sons Jack, Thomas, and Will in Wake Forest NC; her son, Reed Abernathy and wife Debbie in Topsail Beach NC; daughter Layne in Raleigh NC and their sons, Scott and wife Jamie in Worcester MA and Jason in Leadville CO; her son Greg Abernathy in Fredericksburg VA; her son Scott King and wife April and their daughter Jada in Palo Alto CA.

Memorial Contributions can be made to Transitions LifeCare 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607.  

Bright Funeral Home is caring for this family. A funeral service will be held 11A.M. on Saturday April 23, 2022 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with visitation from 10-11 prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
