Harry McKee Cooke of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Gloucester Township, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the age of 88. Known to most everyone as Pop-Pop, he is survived by his daughter, Marcia Cooke and granddaughter, Katheryne Cooke and daughter, Carole Stackhouse (nee Lampman) and grandchildren; William Stackhouse (Donna Allfre), Christine Lampman-Brooks (Joe), Carole Anne Gnan (Hari), and Leo Lampman IV (Danielle), and great grandchildren; Louis Michael Fatato, Joseph Brooks, Leo Lampman V, Ben Lampman, Owen Lampman, Sam Lampman and AJ Gnan. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Eleanor and son, Leo A. Lampman III (Kathleen).
Harry retired after working over 50 years in the Insurance industry and was honored by the America Public Gas Association with a service award which now bears his name and is awarded each year. He loved spending time with his family. He was a devout Roman Catholic, active member of his church, and committed Adorer. And when he was able, he served hot lunch to the students of St. Raphael Catholic School and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School. He loved to garden and it was said he could sprout a rock and make it grow. He was everyone’s Pop-Pop.
There will be visitation from 9AM to 10AM on Thursday December 14th at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Wake Forest.
Inurnment will take place at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church Columbarium.
Donations may be made in memory of Harry M. Cooke to the America Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
