Lillian Mildred McCarthy, 95, died peacefully at home on Monday, June 12th, surrounded by her loving daughter. Mildred was born October 3, 1921 to the late Bascom Lanier and Eudora Bradham Lanier.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Randul Edward McCarthy, Jr.; brothers, Joe Brown Lanier, William Calvin Lanier and Albert Sidney Lanier as well as her sister, Pauline Lanier Clifton.
Mildred worked her adult life as an accountant. She was treasurer and charter member of Wilmington Island Baptist Church which is now known as First Baptist Church of the Island. She enjoyed Dancing with the Stars,Dominos, Solitaire and UNO.
Funeral services and burial will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Island Chapel, Savannah, Georgia.
Surviving are: a daughter, Donna Maria Farmer and husband, Will of Wake Forest; two sisters, Margie Lanier Way of Alabama and Christine Stubbs of Louisiana; nieces and nephews; her 2nd family, Bubba and Kathy Hodges; special grandchildren, Kelli Mills, Kimberly Sutton and Christopher Hodges.
