When I moved to Raleigh In 2005, I began attending Wake Forest Methodist Church. As Methodists tend to do, I always sat in the same area. Mo always sat in the pew in front of me, and two other ladies, Betty Swindel and Kathryn Davis always sat close by. Chatting with each other before the service began each Sunday grew into a friendship which eventually included by niece, Jenni Willoughby who lived in Raleigh also. There was quite a difference in age among the group with Mo being the oldest, but Mo proved that outlook on life, not age is what matters. She could be so funny, most of the time not meaning to but just how she said things. I remember going to lunch in Cameron Village with her after church one Sunday,.then over to Talbots to shop. As we were trying on clothes she stepped out of the dressing room and said, "You know, it's getting hard to look sixteen anymore.". The five of us had many good times together and lunch out on birthdays was always a must. In 2009, I moved to California to be near my three, now five grandchildren so the times together ended for me. I did visit North Carolina a couple of years ago and was able to once again to, along with the other three ladies, visit Mo. It was like old times. She was a lovely lady, a dear friend, and my life is definitely richer from having known her

I was saddened to hear of Mo's passing. Due to her health, she finally had to stop the lunches and fellowship she would share with us, her friends, Betty Swindell, Kathryn Davis, Sammi Graham and myself. She looked forward to those get- togethers as much as we did and she could always make us laugh with her quick wit and stories. She loved the game Skip Bo and nothing gave her more pleasure then winning at it. It made our small group feel good knowing she got such pleasure from our time with her. She is now in her eternal home. You will be missed Mo.
