Mark D Rector

Mark D. Rector, 68, died Thursday, January 18, 2018.   

Mark had two daughters: Tricia Fox, age 46 and Tracey Klingel, age 40.

   Tricia has one daughter Madeline, 13, and Tracey has a son Andrew (Mark), 13 and a daughter Leah, 12.  Mark, adored his daughters and his grandchildren and cherished going to their sports activities, such as watching his grandchildren play hockey, volley ball, and basketball. It was so apparent that both Mark and Lisa were very close to their daughters and grandchildren.  Mark and Lisa were married for 48 years. Lisa's brothers and sisters grew up having Mark be part of many holiday celebrations before they were married and many through their marriage. Mark was a big brother and friend to us all.

   Mark retired from Samuel Strapping after 23 years. He had a successful sales career and dedicated his life to providing for his family. He was a Marine Veteran who served our country with pride and will be buried in a military cemetery.

   Mark so enjoyed playing golf, and was very good at it, including several " hole in ones". Over the last two years, he also loved taking vacations to Canada and having his daughters and grandchildren come up  to fish, staying at her brother, Kurt's cabin.  Even though Mark lived in North Carolina he was an avid Browns, Ohio State, and Cavaliers fan.  One of his fondest hobbies was listening to beach music, which he shared with his family on Friday nights, as well as going to live events and dedicating special songs on the radio to Lisa.

   Mark died an unexpected death due to a fall.  His daughters were able to kiss their father good-bye, and family was at his bedside as he passed away peacefully.  He will be sadly missed by Lisa, his daughters, his grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in The Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. A private burial will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
