Patsy Ruth Corbett Herold entered paradise on Friday, April 1, 2022.

Patsy was born on January 29, 1932 in Highland County, Virginia to Charles Harper Corbett and Elsie Pritt. She was born breach at her home showing that she was a real survivor from the start.

Patsy graduated from Aurora University in 1953 and went on to teach school for 38 years in Montgomery County, Maryland. She would eventually get her Doctorate in Education from the  University of Florida.

Patsy met the love of her life, Hal Douglas Herold, on a snowy December day while they were both Christmas shopping. They went on a date and the rest was history. They were married for 25 years until Hal passed away in 1975.

Patsy enjoyed sports, making friends wherever she went and playing slot machines. She loved her family more than anything. She gave of herself completely to her children and grandchildren. Her biggest blessing was the close relationships with her grandchildren. Patsy will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Patsy is survived by her daughter Ann Ketcham of Wake Forest, NC and her son, Kurt Herold (Marilyn) of Richmond, VA; grandsons, Steven Ketcham (Jesslyn) and Jack Ketcham; sisters Malen Eakin (Ralph) and Diana Smick (Bill); brother Martin Corbett( Mary); stepson, Hal Douglas Herold Jr. (Ivonne); step grandsons, Coleman Hoyt, Marc Herold (Kalyn) and Travis Herold; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Harper Corbett and Elsie Pritt; sister, Shirley Verges; brothers, Gerald (Mamie), Jimmy (Audry), Doug (Louise), Hugh and Ray Harper.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022  at 2:00 P.M. in the Bright Funeral Home chapel.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
