Philip Edward Schroeder, 73, of Youngsville, North Carolina passed away early Saturday morning, September 30, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the husband of Carol (Pasternak) Schroeder, to whom he was married for seven blissful years.
Born on June 22, 1944 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Lester and Berta (Sharp) Katz. He was a graduate of Penn State University and spent most of his life in eastern Pennsylvania working at Mack Trucks and the family real estate business until relocating to North Carolina in 2012.
Always fascinated by the technical aspects of things, he was an antique clock enthusiast and repaired, restored, and built countless clocks and watches during his lifetime. He also enjoyed watching Penn State football and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Schroeder (Julie) of Raleigh, NC and David Schroeder (Sarah) of Columbia, SC; two grandsons, Ethan and Aaron; two brothers, David Katz (Ellen) of Scottsdale, AZ and Greg Katz of Stroudsburg, PA; and four nieces and a nephew.
