Tribute

Robert D'Errico, 74, of Wake Forest passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at his home.  He was born on January 29, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York the second of three children to Ermete and Mary (nee Sanseverino) D'Errico.

He graduated from Xaverian High School in 1965 and attended technical school for computers and community college for his associate’s degree. He was in Boys Scouts earning all but one badge to become an Eagle Scout. Ever the hard-worker, he worked for IBM for over 45 years in various roles and positions, retiring in 2017. He just recently started a second career with Mid-Atlantic Crane Company in administration, which he really enjoyed and thrived in the short time he was there. He met Joanne Lampitelle in 1969. After years of dating, they were married at Our Lady of Solace Church in Brooklyn in 1972 and just recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on March 12th. In his spare time, he loved to golf, always organizing the games and teams for his Traditions golf group. He also loved watching football- a lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan. Often in his travels, he would find other fellow fans wherever he went thanks to his constant hat-wearing. He was also very family oriented, always willing to help family and friends with odd jobs and home renovations when needed. He loved his landscaping, mowing the lawns, and putting his Christmas decorations outside, which he usually added a new piece every year. He also loved spending time with his family, especially on the holidays, as well as various events in his son's life as well as his own.

His father, Ermete, passed away in 1999 and, his mother, Mary, in 2013.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joanne, their son, Anthony, sisters, Jo-Anne Seacott and Theresa Dimino (brother-in-law, Vincent), and sister-in-law, Carol Esposito, several nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews, numerous coworkers, neighbors and friends who enjoyed his company and felt like part of the family, whom will all truly miss him.
