Robert Neal Ronan

Robert Neal Ronan, 91 passed away peacefully at Sunrise Assisted Living on Sunday June 12, 2022. Bob was originally from Danvers, MA where he was known as “Jet” Ronan during his high school athletic years. He was a graduate of Bentley College and spent many years living in Maine before moving to Youngsville, North Carolina in 2002.

Bob enjoyed many hobbies over the years including; fishing, boating, bowling and model making. In later years, he became an avid golfer, often playing 36 holes in a day and was an active participant and Board member of Paschal Golf Club in Wake Forest for many years. He was also a very active member in the Emmanuel Congregational Church of Danvers, MA and the First Congregational Church of Scarborough, ME.

Bob was an accountant by trade and held controller and general manager positions at several manufacturing companies before his retirement in 1996. He contributed much of his time and financial talents to the golf clubs, churches and other organizations he belonged to throughout his life.

He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was a tank driver and tank commander and promoted to Sergeant before the end of his tour. He received numerous medals and commendations.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; a daughter and her spouse Wendy and Steve deMontbrun; grandchildren Brittany Moss and her spouse (Alex Moss) and Kevin deMontbrun; great grandchildren Elena and Adeline Moss.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17th at 10:30AM at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice 4505 Falls of the Neuse Road Unit 650 Raleigh, NC 27609
