Thomas Payne Gourlay

Tom Gourlay, 80, passed away on Saturday morning, January 20, 2018, in Raleigh, NC.  He was born to the late Marion and George Gourlay on October 9, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. 

He married the love of his life, Nora nee Kilkenny from County Mayo, Ireland, on October 20,1962 at St. Brendan's Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY.  Soon after, they moved to North Babylon, NY where they raised their beautiful family. Tom was a dedicated family man, a NYC fireman, a keen golfer and loyal fan of the New York Rangers.  

 A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday January 24, 2018 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 520 W. Holding Ave. Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nora, son, Thomas, daughters Debra, Denise and Marian, son-in-laws, Matt Skiko and Alan Ferguson and his twelve beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Cameron, Erin, Evan, Allison, Lauren, Matthew, Lili, Fallon, Abigail, William and Mitchell, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

 Visitation will be held from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.
