William " Jerry" Bailey

William G. “Jerry” Bailey 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 24, 2017. He was born in Raleigh on July 4, 1934 to the late William Andrew Bailey and Lillian Jones Bailey. He graduated from Millbrook High School in 1953. He attended Campbell College where he met his wife of almost 56 years. Shortly after getting married, Jerry was drafted into the Army and served in Germany for 2 years. After returning, he worked in sales for several plumbing companies - Standard Supply Company, Atlas Supply & Noland. He was a lifetime member of Bay Leaf Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, watching sports and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack team. He was a sweet loving father & grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Lola T Bailey, twin brother Terry Bailey and his wife Jane Bailey.
He is survived by his son, Edward G. Bailey, daughter, Gina B. Bunch and her husband, Paul Bunch and grandchildren Candace Bunch and her fiancé, Alec Dziwanowski, Molly Arnold and her husband, Tyler Arnold, Chelsea Bunch and Quentin Bunch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Bay Leaf Baptist Church 12200 Bay Leaf Church Road, Raleigh NC. A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Sunrise at North Hills and Transitions Lifecare for their kindness and care of our loved one.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions Lifecare or Bay Leaf Baptist Church.
