William Glenn Herndon Jr. of Wake Forest, North Carolina, formerly of Gaithersburg, Maryland passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Tuesday October 8, 2019. Bill was the beloved husband of 33 years to Sharon (Dunne) Herndon. Proud father of Taylor and Bradley Herndon and his twins were his heart’s joy.

Bill was born in Washington, DC on May 6, 1959. He grew up in Hyattsville, Maryland before the family moved to Olney, Maryland in 1971. Bill graduated from Sherwood High School in 1977. He attended Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland where he received his associate’s degree in business.

Bill was an entrepreneur from an early age having a paper route, cutting lawns all to buy his first 1966 Ford Mustang. His love of cars (shared with his Dad) began as a young boy. He worked at Safeway during college all at the same time he was working on his dream car business startup.

Bill and his love Sharon were married on July 26, 1986 at Salem United Methodist in Brookeville, Maryland. They ran their business side by side together every day, Pony Warehouse.

Bill was a member of the Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC), The Mustang Club of America, and Kerr Lake Ford Club. Bill’s first Shelby Ford Mustang was a 1967 GT 350. He absolutely loved his Shelby’s and Mustangs. They were his Life Passion.

Bill is survived by his wife Sharon Herndon of Wake Forest, his daughter Taylor Marie, son Bradley William also of Wake Forest.

Bill was preceded in death just this past June 23, 2019 by his father William Glenn Herndon Sr. His loving mother Caroline Herndon of Frederick, mother-in-law Donna Decker of Baltimore, sisters Linda (Greg) Shores of Poolesville and Debra Paper of West Friendship, nieces Lauren Shores Shillinger, Victoria Lynn Shores, Caroline Paper. Nephews Joshua and William, Great Nieces and Nephews Brynleigh, Hudson and Kaelyn.

Family is receiving visitors Saturday October 12, 2019 from 2-4pm at Bright Funeral Home 405 S. Main Street Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Funeral Services will be held October 15, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home 31440 Constitution Hwy, Locust Grove, VA. 22508 at 11:30am with internment at Laurel Hills immediately following.
