Abram Piasek

Abram Piasek, 91, of Raleigh passed away, Wednesday, January 15, 2020. He was born November 10, 1928 in Bialobrzegi, Poland, a son of the late Joseph and Faga (Sherman) Piasek.  Abram was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Piasek in May of 2012 and his granddaughter, Rebecca Schwartz.   

Abram was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked as a Baker. He was a speaker for the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust. He enjoyed fishing, and poker.  

He is survived by his son, Joseph Piasek, and his wife, Jane Piasek, of Roxbury, NY; daughter, Pamela Graber, and her husband, Aaron Graber, of Franklinton; grandson, Knoah Piasek, and his wife, Elizabeth Piasek, of  Santa Clara, CA & Brooklyn, NY, grandson, Daniel Amoto, from Honolulu, Hawaii; granddaughter, Katy Crowe, and her husband, Adam Crowe, of Papa’aloa, Hawaii; grandson, Jefferson Piasek, of Kihei, Hawaii; granddaughter, Zena Fletcher, of Franklinton, grandson-in-law, Richard Schwartz of Wake Forest; great-grandchildren: Adam Schwartz, of Wake Forest, and great-granddaughters: Allison Fletcher and Amanda Fletcher both of Franklinton.  

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 2:30 at The Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery, 450 N. State St, Raleigh, NC 27604.  

Memorial donations may be made to any of the following:  United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (ushmm.org), Temple Beth OR Sisterhood Helping Hands.
