Aidan Patrick Hayes, 20, of Wake Forest, passed away March 16, 2020 in Raleigh. He was born March 17, 1999 in Landstuhl, Germany, a son of Brian and Bethany Hayes.

Aidan was the son of Air Force parents, growing up in eight different places. He loved to travel. He was a graduate of Wake Forest High School Class of 2017 and his dream was to be a Navy SEAL. Aidan was a leader in JROTC, a member of the NRA and recipient of the NRA Youth Education Scholarship for North Carolina. Aidan was also a member of Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Life Scout.

Aidan was an outstanding athlete. He ran varsity cross country/track, was trained in Krav Maga, and worked out daily. Aidan often motivated others to succeed. He was also a talented musician. He played the trumpet in a jazz band as well as the guitar and the Irish Bodhrán drum. He loved his dog, Dublin, an Irish Doodle. Aidan really enjoyed sailing. He learned how to sail on the San Francisco Bay and took great pride in fixing up a boat he found for free on Craigslist.

Aidan is survived by his parents, Brian and Bethany of Wake Forest, his siblings: Shannon Monroe, and her husband, Paul, of New York, Chris Hayes of Wake Forest and Daniel Hayes of Wake Forest; his niece Juniper Monroe of New York, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and his friends.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning August 6, 2020 at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest, and face masks are required. Burial will be in the Salisbury National Cemetery 705 Hedrick Street Salisbury, NC on Friday August 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
