Allen N. Berg, 74, of Wake Forest, NC passed away on June 26, 2019.
Allen was born on November 22, 1944 in Puna, Hawaii to the late Albert and Toyoko (Arakaki) Berg.
After moving to New York State in 1959, Allen graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1962. Allen retired from NYNEX (Verizon) in December of 1992 as Director, Mid State Engineering/Construction and moved to North Carolina. He also was employed for Consultant Services with Parson Telecom, OSP Consultants, RJE Telecom and ITC Service Group. Allen served as 4th ward councilman in the town of Poughkeepsie, NY and as Dutchess County Legislature. He was the Business Division Chair for the 1993 Marist College Fund and was a former board member for Mid Hudson Pattern for Progress. Allen was a former Elks Club Member of Hyde Park, NY Lodge # 2778 and a member of the Poughkeepsie, NY Rotary Club.
Allen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Paulette Daloia Berg. A daughter Patricia (Devin) Hartley, NC, his mother-in-law Eleanore Daloia, NC, brother-in-law Richard Zirbes (April), NC, brothers Don (Kathleen) Berg, NY, Ted Berg, NC, Robert (Cheryll) Berg, NY, Walter (Polly) Berg, VA, and sister Kathryn (Dan) Fritzke, VA along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 520 West Holding Avenue, Wake Forest. The family will visit with friends in the church narthex one hour prior to the mass from 10-11:00 a.m.
Inurnment will be held at Saint Catherine of Siena Memorial Garden at the convenience of the family.
