Almeda Mae Jaquays Bigler, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the age of 79. Almeda was born on March 9, 1942 in Cuyahoga County just outside of Aurora, Ohio to Wade Edward Jaquays and Virginia Almeda Cole Jaquays. She graduated as Valedictorian of her class at Rittman High School in 1960. She worked in data processing at Independent Data Processing Corporation for over 30 years eventually becoming the owner, President and CEO.
Almeda was most know for the unconditional love she showed her family, friends, neighbors, plants and dogs. She could handle receiving any type of information in a steadfast way and was always available to be a listening ear, a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. She was consistent, loyal and loving in all that she did. She had a passion for her dogs, for organizing, documenting and being a faithful companion to her loved ones. She will be dearly missed by her adoring family, by past and present neighbors and friends she had for over fifty years.
Almeda is preceded in death by her parents and treasured pets Smokey, Freckles, Whiskey, Jake and Ruby. She is survived by her only son, Steven Jackson Bigler (Carrie) and four grandchildren, Cameron, Georgia, Whit and Riggs, ex-husband and dear friend, Jack Bigler, her sister, Jo Anne Jaquays, nieces, Jennifer Alexander (Mike) and Michelle Arata (Steve), nephew, Derrick Pohl (Tammy), several great nieces and nephews and her dog Pearl (now living with her son).
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, 27614. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.
