Annie B. Gay

Annie Elizabeth Braswell Gay, 87 of Manchester, TN formally of Raleigh, NC met her Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday April 5, 2018. She was born September 8, 1930 in Wake County.

She was predeceased by her parents Bug and Ada Braswell of Wake Forest and two brothers, Lawrence and Charles Braswell.

She is survived by: brothers, Frank Donald Braswell and his wife, Shamra, and Charles Braswell and wife, Margaret; loving mother to her son, Richard Andrew Gay of Morehead City, NC and daughter, Vicky Gay Odette and husband, Tom Odette of Manchester, TN.; grandmother to two grandsons, Derek Odette and wife, Amber of Boerne, TX and Nick Odette and wife, Claire of Murfreesboro, TN. Her love for her Great Grandchildren was unmeasurable; Tucker, Lilly and Spencer of Boerne, Ava and Sadie of Murfreesboro. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews which she cherished dearly.

Annie loved gardening – especially working alongside her mother and father in their garden. She loved working in her yard that was always full of blooms. She loved sharing her fruits, veggies and her special brand of wisdom. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh. She loved walking, visiting and sharing her smile with the neighbors as she walked the neighbor trying to keep her Multiple Sclerosis under control. She retired from the NC Dept of Revenue in the Sales Tax Dept.

The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday April 10th at 9:30 followed by a service in the Chapel at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St, Wake Forest at 11:00. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Youngsville.
