Ardythe "Ardy" Wiggins

Ardythe “Ardy” Ann Wiggins, 81 years old, passed away on January 14, 2023.

Ardy graduated from Buies Creek High School and worked for Dorothea Dix Hospital for 35 years.

She was a selfless woman, always referred to as “the helper” because she was known to put herself last. Ardy loved life, all aspects of it, and had a huge sense of humor. She had an outgoing personality who enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, and especially loved roses. She was a good friend, always ready with a listening ear and helpful advice.

Above all, she loved her family and gave never ending support and unconditional love to her son, Dwayne and was a fun, fantastic “MawMaw” to her grandson, Levi.

Ardythe was preceded in death by her parents, Pritchard and Ruth Savage; husband, Russell Emmett Wiggins; sister, Agnes Savage Lamn; brother, Dwight Richard Savage; and brother-in-laws, Ted Knittle and Cecil Gregory.

She is survived by her son, Dwayne Alan Wiggins and his lifey/wifey, Aprile Davis; grandson, Levi Andrew Wiggins and his significant other Stevie Blaylock; siblings James Pritchard Savage (Rebecca), Martha Savage Knittle, Sophia Savage Gregory, Esther Savage Wester (James), Reba Savage Clifton (David), Joseph Martin Savage (Shawna), Patricia Savage Washburn (Ed); sister-in-law Janice Savage; brother-in-law MW “Twig” Wiggins (Sarah) and their children Joan Wiggins Tutons and Sheryl Wiggins Ritchie.

Ardy's family is quite extensive. Her parents had 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Bright Funeral Home is caring for this family. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 12:00 p.m. at Oak Level Christian Church in Youngsville, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ardy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Ardy was a long time contributor) or to the Alzheimer's Research
