Barbara Carolyn Britt

Barbara Carolyn Britt, 82, of Kannapolis, NC passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at the Hillside Nursing Center in Wake Forest, NC after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She immediately entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her mind and joy restored. 

Mrs. Britt was born in Quitman, GA on November 23, 1937, to the late Sam Turner and Ethel Turner Rice. 

Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Britt and her husband of 57 years, Charles Britt. 

Mrs. Britt was a member of Crown Pointe Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She was a homemaker fondly known as Mamaw by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Survivors include three children, Cheryl Grissom of Wake Forest, Lynn Britt of Salisbury, and Jimmy Britt of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. 

A private family graveside service will be held at the Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mars Hill, at 1 p.m. on November 16, 2020.
