Barbara Jean (Arnold) Davis

Barbara Arnold Davis, of Wake Forest passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. She was born August 31, 1933, to Joseph William Arnold and Gladys Estes Arnold. Barbara married James Harold Davis on November 23, 1950, and had two children; Johnny Davis of California and Shirley Davis Pennell of Wake Forest.

In 1970, Barbara graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh. For many years Barbara worked for Murdock Center in Butner, NC and for many years she owned and operated Barbara’s 1909 Ceramic’s on what is now Purnell Road. Ceramics were Barbara’s biggest passion in life along with watching and feeding the birds and tending to her flowers and traveling with friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, July 15, 2022 at Woodland Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Powell Family Cemetery.

In addition to Johnny and Shirley, she is survived by her brothers, Joseph Carlton Arnold (Jodi) and Butch Arnold (Frances) both of Creedmoor, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Justin (Mother Carol Tysor) of Richmond, VA, Jamie (Brian) of Swansboro and Chadwick (Ashley) of Wake Forest and by her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Davis, Chloe, Dawson and Charlotte of Swansboro, NC as well as Austyn, Christopher and Kendell of Wake Forest, NC, and Waverlee of Zebulon, along with several nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Davis; sisters, Betty Lou Hicks, Mary Blevins, and Jenny Cooper and son-in-law, Charlie Eugene Pennell.

Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to the Sylvan Heights Bird Park, P. O. Box 368, Scotland Neck, NC 27874. (This is a 501(c) (3))

Friends may visit with the family at Woodland Baptist Church from 1-2 preceding the service.
