CJ Collins

CJ Collins, 85, of Wake Forest passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home.

CJ served in the US Air Force as a Flight Engineer based out of Fairbanks, Alaska.  He was the Chief of Police in McBee, SC, retired from IBM and retired from the Wake Forest Fire Department.  He coached Little League Baseball in Wake Forest and was a past member of the Civitan Club.  He loved fishing and was an avid gardener.  He dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Marilea Collins, granddaughter, Alisha Collins of the home, three sons, Darrell (Kelly) Collins, Dwayne Collins and Doug (Terrie) Collins, two daughters, Donna Marx and Denette (Steve) Tomlinson, twelve grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, two sisters and six half siblings.  He was preceded in death by a son, Dean Collins and a great granddaughter, Cayleigh Thornton.
