Joanne W. Milburn

Carolyn “Joanne” Wetzler Milburn, 86, of Wake Forest, North Carolina died Thursday October 17, 2019.  Joanne was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, daughter of George and Hilda Wetzler.  She was married to Donald Milburn who preceded her in death.  Their early years after marriage were spent in Richmond, VA where they began their family and they eventually settled in Sterling. 

Joanne is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Coley and husband Scott of Columbia Missouri, a son Edward Milburn and wife Stacy of Wake Forest and two grandsons, Donny and Ben Milburn.   

She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Trautman of Herminie, PA, brother Jim Wetzler and wife Linda of White Oak, PA and sister-in-law Maryann Wetzler.  Preceding her in death was her Brother Don Wetzler of Cumming, Georgia. 

Raising her beautiful children was one of her proudest accomplishments and she also spent many years working at Future Homemakers of America.  Joanne loved to sew, cook and shop but most important to her was showering her two grandsons with love and affection.   They were the love of her life. 

Joanne spent her later years at Brookdale North Raleigh where she made many friends.  Often when family visited, they were told how pleasant she was and how fortunate they were to have her as a friend. She had a gift of not only being a good conversationalist but a great listener.  She will be sorely missed. 

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.
