Charles Edward Pearce, 81, of Wake Forest passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 19, 1941 in Wake County, the son of the late Ben and Dorothy Beck Pearce and was a 1959 graduate of Rolesville High School. Mr. Pearce worked at ITT in Raleigh, NC before joining the NC State Highway Patrol in 1969. During his career, his duty stations included Cumberland County Troop B, Guilford County Troop D, Rowan County Troop E, and Pitt County Troop A. He served on the patrol for 30 years before retiring as Captain of Troop C in Wake County. Mr. Pearce was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church and of Garner Lodge #701 A.F & A.M.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2022 at Rolesville Baptist Church, 203 E. Young St., Rolesville, NC 27571. Burial will follow in the Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery with honors provided by the NC State Highway Patrol Honor Guard.
Mr. Pearce is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Williams Pearce; daughter, Christy (Terry); grandson, Zachariah Charles and granddaughter, Zoe Lin-Marie; sisters, Frances P. Bunn and Onie Mae Coppedge (Sid); brother, Jimmy Pearce (Betty) as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul David Pearce.
