Cornell Woodlief "Bunch" Chappell

Cornell Woodlief “Bunch” Chappell, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on December 5, 2020.  She was born to the late Bervin and Garlon Woodlief on May 24, 1935.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Chappell, sister Iola Dew, and brother L.T. Woodlief, Sr. 

Cornell is survived by her sister Nelva Perry and brother Tom Woodlief (Joyce).  She is also survived by her nieces Diane Pearson and Mandy Harp; her nephews L.T. Woodlief, Jr., Bill Woodlief, Jim Woodlief, Marty Woodlief, Michael Woodlief, David Woodlief; 10 great nieces and nephews, 12 great-great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.  She also leaves behind her special neighbors Susan and Perry Dean, Mathis Dean and English Dean.  A special thank you to Transitions Hospice and Perpetual Homecare.  

Cornell was a member of Stony Hill Baptist Church and retired from the State of North Carolina.  She loved swimming at the YMCA where she made many friends over the years.

A graveside service will be held at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest, North Carolina.  Face masks and social distancing are greatly appreciated.
