Youngsville, North Carolina - Dane Landan Harvey, 35, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Youngsville, NC, on May 15, 2022. He was a faithful husband to Sarah Riddle Harvey, the love of his life and high school sweetheart, and a devoted, attentive, and extremely hands-on father to his two young sons. Dane and Sarah were married on April 28, 2012, and they recently celebrated ten years of a joy-filled, loving marriage. Dane received a degree in Computer Engineering from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College, was an entrepreneur in a variety of successful business pursuits and served as a partner and master woodworker with Triangle Craftsmen. He was taken far too soon.

Known for his high energy and vibrant presence, Dane was loved by all who knew him. He had the best sense of humor, could make a joke out of anything, and would light up every room. Dane enjoyed action-packed activities including wakeboarding, snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, camping, dirt biking, and even extreme sports like paramotoring. Outside of his wife and children, his pride and joy was his lawn. He worked on it almost daily and it is the most beautiful, lush lawn you will ever see. Even with his very full plate, Dane made time to reach out to his "people" almost daily, and each of them looked forward to how he was going to bring a smile to their face that day. But, most of all, Dane truly enjoyed helping those with a need. He would quickly come up with a plan and meet the need the best way he knew how.

Dane is survived by his wife Sarah Riddle Harvey, sons Declan (three years old) and Shepard (five months old), parents Chuck & Wendy Harvey, father-in-law David Riddle, sister Kalyn Harvey Slagle (Brian), grandmother Mary Mahon, grandfather Chester Mahon, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Charley and Roberta Harvey and his mother-in-law Sally Riddle.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 26, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cross + Main, located at 201 East Main Street, in Youngsville, NC. It will be officiated by pastor and dear family friend Chris Moore from Texas. Friends and family are encouraged to come to share stories and memories of their time with Dane.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being made to begin a special fund for the future education of Dane's young sons. Checks may be made payable to Sarah Harvey, and earmarked "Education Fund" and mailed to 160 Ambergate Drive, Youngsville, NC, 27596.
