Tribute

David Michael Dube, 44, of Raleigh, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

He was born in Southington, CT on October 8, 1975 to Gina Brino and Norman Dube.  David grew up as an only child, but would later discover he had six siblings:  Christine, Deena, Jamie, Kasey, Bridget, and Ryan.  He graduated from Bryant University with a degree in Business Administration.  After graduation he moved to Burlington, VT where he made many life-long friends.  He joined JetBlue in 2002 and worked his way from baggage handler to General Manager and served in Burlington, Baltimore, and Raleigh.  In recent years he changed careers to Real Estate Broker with Hunter Rowe.

He is survived by his mother and step-father Gina and Kevin McKenna and their children Kasey, Bridget, and Ryan of Bristol, CT; sister Christine Gonenc, her husband Joe and their sons Joe and James of Wake Forest, NC; sister Deena Banaciski, her husband Jon and their children Peyton and Tanner of Mexico, ME; sister Jamie Carrier, her husband Kyle and their sons Logan, Cooper, and Theo of Bristol, CT; many beloved family members and friends that have become family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Angelantonio and Domenica Brino; Norman and Edith Dube; and his father, Norman Dube.

David was an avid sports fan and visited all but five major league baseball stadiums.  Among his favorite things to do were to jam at Phish concerts, travel, and spend time with friends.  He was devoted to Zhu Zhu, his cat who was known to bark at birds and squirrels.

David was wise beyond his years and touched every soul he encountered.  He seemed to appear in the lives of others when they most needed him to offer support, wisdom, friendship, and compassion. He will be remembered as a loyal friend, a devoted son, and a loving brother. We will miss him more than words can ever express.

David’s family will host a celebration of his life at Greenway Beer and Wine, 519 S Main St, Rolesville, NC on August 2, 2020 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.  A celebration in Connecticut is planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Food Bank of NC, or a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
