Dennis Paul Bodmer

Our loving, humorous companion and friend, Dennis Paul Bodmer, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2017. He passed away at home after years of multiple chronic illnesses.

Born on April 18, 1960 in Long Island, Dennis spent most of his childhood in NY. After High School he became an apprentice with the Sheet Metal Workers. He worked at Fisher Skylights and Fargo Manufacturing as a designer draftsman. After moving to NC in 1998, he earned a degree with honors in Technology Education at NC State. He taught Math at Job Corp in Kitterel, NC.

Dennis met his wife, Susanne in Newburgh, NY. They were married October 1985. Dennis was loving husband to Susanne and wonderful father to their daughter, Nadia, the joy of their life.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Susanne and daughter Nadia of Wake Forest, NC, parents, Ronald and Barbara Bodmer, of Ocala, FL, and sister Nora Stoddard along with her husband Mark and two children Hannah and Rebekah of Wilton, CT.

Dennis had many fond memories of going to Northern Frontier Camp in NY, first as a camper and later a counselor. In memory of Dennis, a Northern Frontier Scholarship Fund has been set up for boys to be able to enjoy camp. A viewing is planned for Thursday June 22, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Bright Funeral Home, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27588.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 23, 2017 at 2 pm at Providence Baptist Church (Delta Lake Center) 6339 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612.

The burial is planned for Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11 am at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
