Deryl Thomas Godwin

Deryl Thomas Godwin, 60, passed away peacefully in his home on February 1, 2022 after his battle with metastatic bladder cancer. He was a talented musician, vocalist, songwriter, and creator of artistic wood art. He sold many pieces of his wood art over the years and his passion for his craft was shown throughout each piece. Through his music he brought joy and comfort to so many.  He was a light to all those he met and always had a way to make people laugh. He never knew a stranger. He was kind hearted, selfless, and life with him never held a dull moment. As well as devotion to his art, he was a devoted and loving husband to wife, Karen, a dedicated and loving dad to daughters, Anna and Amy Godwin, and step-sons, Jared Ambrosini and Adam Ambrosini, father-in-law to Kristi Ambrosini, a Pappi to five granddaughters, Emma, Laney, Harper, Brielle, and Lailah, a dear brother to Lucy and Skippy Godfrey, Bobby and Tamar Horton, and Jenny and Bill Golat, as well as an amazing friend to so many. His life and his legacy will never be forgotten; his memory will live on in those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Brody Horton, and his sister, Sherrie Mooney. His family is clinging to the hope and faith they have in Jesus Christ, knowing they will see him again in eternity.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 12 at 1pm at Richland Creek Community Church in Wake Forest. Flowers for the service will be provided by Brandi’s Botanicals in Youngsville, NC.
