Dignora Altagracia Rodriguez

Dignora “Noris” (Fernandez) Rodriguez was born on May 28, 1957 in Dominican Republic to the late Felipe and Ana (Estevez) Fernandez. She passed away on October 12, 2019 in her home in Wake Forest, North Carolina, after battling thyroid cancer.

Noris was loved by many for her selfless, empathetic, caring, energetic, and kind nature. She was a dedicated wife, mother of two, and sister to eleven siblings. Her loving nature and honest heart lured children to her, especially her grandson, Alexander “Alex,” whom she adored. One of her favorite ways to bring her family together was through her highly sought after homemade meals that she’d share during holidays and family gatherings. Because of Noris’s outstanding memory, she would make everyone feel special by remembering their birthdays, anniversaries, and special dates.

Noris was a perfect Gemini with a dual nature of strong personality and yet adaptable to all and great sense of humor. But above all, Noris was a brave and admirable woman who loved her family dearly.

Noris is survived by her husband of 41 years, Santos Rodriguez; daughter Glennis (Rodriguez) Alvarado, and her husband, Steven Alvarado; son Angel Rodriguez and his wife Crystal Rodriguez; grandson Alexander Alvarado; and eleven siblings (seven sisters and four brothers).

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm at St. Catherine of the Siena Catholic Church, in Wake Forest. Followed by interment at Pine Forest Cemetery, in Wake Forest.
