Tribute

Donald was born February 11, 1946 in Alton, Illinois. He graduated from East Alton High School in Illinois before joining the United States Navy. He proudly served fours years for his country, stationed at NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida. He sailed to different parts of the world, on the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy, the U.S.S. Enterprise, and the U.S.S. Shangri La. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he took a job at Columbus McKinnon Chain & Hoist in Tonawanda, New York where was eventually promoted to Supervisor. His would be transferred to the Cobourg, Ontario, Canada facility in 1985 until 2001 when he and his wife returned to the United States to reside in Virginia. He happily retired in 2010 at 65 years old. He volunteered time as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader in both the United States and Canada. Donald loved woodworking, crafts of different varieties, and motorcycles.

Donald is predeceased by his father, Charles, and his mother, Sarah. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Chuck and Paul and his best friend and cousin, George. He is now reunited with them all in heaven.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Nancy, his loving children, Hope and Craig (Jessica), and six grandchildren, Tanner, Megan, Madelyne, Tristan, Austin, and Jackson, as well as a great-grandson, Troy. Donald is also survived by his brother, Lawrence, along with his brother-in-law, Harry and sister-in-law, Paulette. Donald leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He will be and is missed.
