Doris Jean Pearce Barham

May 4, 1932 ~ October 1, 2018 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Tribute

Doris Jean Pearce “Dah” Barham, 86, had a passion for her family and for living life her own way. Doris left this earth peacefully on Monday morning, October 1, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones in her home and in their care.

Doris was the middle child of Ina Frances Woodlief and Eugene Bryant Pearce of Rolesville, NC. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She called them “her babies.” Doris grew up in Rolesville where she graduated from Rolesville High School. She was a very competitive basketball player and received the superlative for most athletic girl her senior year.

Thomas and Doris spent their lives as a pair. They made their home just outside of Rolesville when they were married on December 27, 1953. They traveled to Florida for many years, making Astor, Florida their home away from home. Doris was truly one of a kind. She had the most colorful personality and was known for her kindness, compassion, quick wit, and always entertaining stories.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for all of the acts of love and kindness shown to them and Dah during her sickness.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018 at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges and the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Doris is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Thomas Barham; son, Bennie Barham and wife, Linda; daughters, LouAnn Bradsher and husband, Glenn; Julie Brown and husband, Larry, all of Rolesville; five grandchildren, Brandon Barham (Catie), Blake Barham (Randi), Lindsey Seaby (Greg), Laura Lloyd (Samuel), and Patrick Bradsher; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Addie, Brynnlee, Sam, Bradsher, Will, Emily, Graham, and Luke; her sister, Nola Daniel and her brothers, E.
