Tribute

Dorothy “Dottie” Blair, 85, died Monday, September 24, 2018. She was born March 17, 1933 to the late Jordan and Mildred Barnes.

Dottie was a kind, giving and strong women. She was a great mom and she loved all kids. She loved her grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Blair. She was fun loving and feisty. Dottie loved fashion and after graduating from Midway College, she worked as a clothing buyer for several department stores in Lexington, KY. She traveled Europe for fashion shows. Later she opened her own clothing store, in Lexington, called Chase LTD. She loved interior design as well, always decorating her home. She passed on her love of fashion and interior design to her daughter Julie Blair. Dottie loved Motown music, Rod Stewart, Aretha Franklin, etc. She loved dancing and especially the beach, where she and Vince went every year. She enjoyed walking the beaches and collecting sea shells. She kept up with politics as did her son, Gary Blair, they would often sit together and discuss all things political. She always put others above herself, always giving and helping others.

Dottie loved to debate. She had a passion for what was right for her family but also for the country. She always saw the best in people, and always wanted her children and family to achieve their dreams. Dottie stayed in touch with her siblings and their children from near and far.

Dottie was truly in love with her husband Vince, always taking care of him and supporting him thru their 67 years of marriage. She knows he will be strong for all of us, free of pain, at peace but still here with us.
