Dorothy H. (Czech) Hester

Dorothy H Hester “Dottie”, 87, of Raleigh, passed away on October 3, 2021 at the William M. Dunlap Center after a difficult fight with pancreatic cancer.  Dottie was born in South Hadley, Massachusetts.  On October 2, 1954 she married her soulmate Lee.  Dottie proudly traveled with Lee as he honorably served in the U.S. Airforce.  Dottie throughly enjoyed the places she saw, the amazing friends she met, and the many amazing memories that were made. 

Dottie is survived by her granddaughter Samantha Murray, her husband Gene, their son Ryder, and their daughter Harper, many loving nieces and nephews, and many special friends that were family to her.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Lee Hester “Cotton Top” and her beloved daughter Kerina Hobaugh.

Dottie was an amazing person with a great sense of humor and a heart of gold.  Dottie was a proud great grandma “Moggie”, those kids were the sparkle in her eye.  Those who knew her will always remember her laughter, her silly jokes, her caring and loving ways, and her courage to keep going even when times got hard.
