Tribute

Elaine Wickert went home to be with our Lord at the age of 80 on April 19, 2021. She was born on October 25, 1940 to Florence & Joseph Wharton in the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia, PA and attended Frankfort High School. She majored in Business Management, and played on the Frankfort Softball team as the starting catcher for three year. Elaine also played the French horn in the High School band and was a starter on the Field Hockey team.

The turning point in her life was at the age of 12 she accepted Jesus Christ as Savior at the Wissinoming Baptist Church, and was a member of their Pioneer Girl program. This led to growing in Christ and serving in positions of leadership in the Jr & High School and young adult programs.

Elaine attend the Philadelphia College of Bible, where the Lord provided training in developing a deep understanding of God’s Word and how to use it in her life.

In 1961 the Lord led her to the love of her life, Jack Wickert to work alone side of in serving the Lord.  In 1963 the Lord called Elaine & Jack to serve in upstate NY.  Then the Lord gave them 4 Children (Jill, Bonnie, Gail, John). In New York the Lord used Elaine to serve for 32 years in the Beacon/Fishkill Baptist Church and Faith Bible Church as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Choir Director, and Jr Church Teacher.

In 1995 the Lord directed her service to Wake Forest to serve at Good Hope Baptist Church then Wakefield Baptist in the above listed assignments. During the latter years she served in the Encouragers Prayer Meeting Group and supported the Outreach efforts.

She has been survived by her greatest joys, her husband, children, grandchildren and great grand children:

Jack (husband). Jill (daughter) and Bill (spouse) their children Jennifer (Jordan), Kristen, and David. Bonnie (daughter) her child Samantha (Matt) their children Logan and Rose. Gail (daughter) and Bart (spouse) their children Leah, Lindsay, Scott and Robert. John (son).

In the last few years of her life she had health issues that though a challenge, Elaine and Jack, continued to love, laugh, work together and trust in the Lord.

Elaine was strong in Christ, served her family and was devoted to them, encouraging, thoughtful, generous, loved gardening, sharing her vegetables, cooking, sports and watching the birds with her many feeders and bird baths and so much more.

She will be dearly missed.

Ephesians 2:8-2:10

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:

It is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
