Elizabeth Frances Bjurstrom

Elizabeth “Beth” Frances Bjurstrom, 79, of Wake Forest died peacefully on July 17, 2020 after a brief illness. Beth has joined her heavenly family, and her departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.

Beth was a compassionate and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born January 1, 1941 in Kewanee, IL. She married James “Jim” Carl Bjurstrom in Kewanee in 1959. They raised their family in West Peoria, IL where she resided until spending her final years in Wake Forest, NC.

She is survived by two sons, Jim (Loretta) of Wake Forest, NC and Steve (Julie) of Rifle, CO, son-in-law Tim Doolan of Ogden, UT, brother Jim Baker (Pam) of Hudson, IL, eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was also a special “G-Ma” to the Holmes family. Husband James Bjurstrom, daughter Diana Doolan, mother Frances Baker, father Beverly Baker, and nephew Brian Baker preceded her in death.

Beth’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, and she had a passion for traveling to the ocean in North Carolina and to the Rocky Mountains. She loved watching sports, and her favorite teams were Duke University Basketball, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears.

A graveside service will be held at a later time where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Jim in Peoria, IL.
