Ella Louise Arnold

Ella Louise Arnold, 85, of Raleigh, formerly of Greenville, N.C., and rural Mexico, Mo., died Aug. 23, after a long illness.

Louise was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Paris, Mo., to the late Ernest “Hap” and Viola “Pearlie” Davis. She was a graduate of Paris High School. On Oct. 14, 1951, she married T.J. Arnold. Louise devoted her life to raising her children and to running the family farm that she and T.J. established after their marriage. She was a 4-H leader and volunteer for her church and her children’s schools.

During the years she lived in Missouri, Louise was a member of Midway Christian Church. In Greenville, she was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church, where she was elected to the office of elder and where she and T.J. were active in the Peaceful Seniors group.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Douglas Arnold.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Coni and Al Clark; a granddaughter, Louisa Clark; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Mac and Alicia Clark, and Sam and Caitlin Clark; and two great-grandsons, McIver “Keev” Clark III and Samuel “Jay” Clark Jr., all of Raleigh. It was her great joy to live to see her great-grandsons’ births.

According to Louise’s wishes, no funeral is planned.
