Emma Joyner Brown

Emma J. Brown completed her wonderful life’s journey here on earth, on Nov. 20th 2018, at the age of 81. Emma was born on Oct. 29th, 1937, in Edgecombe County, to the late Luther and Gwendolyn Joyner. 

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George L. Brown Jr. and her sister, Carolyn Reynolds. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, November 24, 2018 at the Wake Forest United Methodist Church 905 S Main St, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Burial will be held at the William & Mary Hart Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Leggett.

Emma survived by her sons, George L. Brown III and wife, Debbie Brown; Mark Brown and wife Dianne Brown; Bryan Brown and Michael Brown and wife Barbara Carter; her grandchildren, Adrienne Clark; Samantha Moye, Danielle Moye, Ashley Brown, Christina Moye and Meredith Brown; her great grandchildren Robert George Clark, Carter and Briana Moye; her sisters Mildred Corbett and Gwendolyn Moore. 

The family wishes to thank Wake Med Hospital and Transitions LifeCare. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Emma will be missed by everyone who knew her wonderful and beautiful soul.
