Franklin “Gene” Aiken, 74, passed away on Friday March 13, 2020 at Transitions Life Care Hospice. He was born in Wake County the son of the late Corinne Hursey Aiken and Edward Franklin Aiken.
Gene loved the Lord Jesus Christ, his family, his church and his friends. He served as a deacon at Bay Leaf and enjoyed helping build handicapped ramps for seniors until he became unable, was a leader in the Awana children’s program for several years and worked with Bible School. He also went on various missions, especially helping provide disaster relief.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon March 17, 2020 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens 770 Stadium Road Wake Forest, NC 27587.
Gene is survived by his wife of 54 years; Judith “Judy” Rogers Aiken, sons; Scott E. Aiken and his wife Susan, Todd F. Aiken and his wife Wei, grandsons; William S. Aiken, Jacob S. Russell and his wife Nickki, a great grandson; William J. Russell, two sisters; Jackie Forsythe and Diane Aiken, a brother; James E. “Billy” Aiken and his wife Gail.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Bay Leaf Baptist Church Missions Fund 12200 Bay Leaf Church Rd. Raleigh, NC 27614 or to Transitions Life Care Hospice 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607.
A memorial service will be held at Bay Leaf Baptist Church after the Corona Virus restrictions are lifted. Date and Time TBD.
