Rev. F.G. Alford

Rev. F.G. Alford, 94, of Youngsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was a native of Franklin County, the son of the late Wesley and Betty Alford. He spent most of his adult life in the ministry and pastored several Baptist churches throughout North Carolina. Several years after retiring from the ministry he moved back to Youngsville to be near his family.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Youngsville. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Social distancing and face coverings are appreciated.

F.G. is survived by his wife of 76 years, Josephine Alford, sons, Fred Alford and wife Judy, Jerry Alford and wife Phyllis and Danny Alford and wife Darnell, grandchildren, Sheri Marshall, Casey Cape, Nicholas Alford, Ashley Overcash, Kristi Van Valkenburgh and Chuck Tingen, numerous great-grandchildren, and sisters, Gladys Hight and Rachel Bradley and husband Danny. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Alford, Jr.
