G. Claire Wall

Claire Wall of Raleigh went to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 5, 2022. She was born in Wake Forest to the late Gurney Wall and Stattie Crowder Wall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Wall Hart, and brother, Lee Thomas (L.T.) Wall.

Claire was a 1949 graduate of Wake Forest High School and completed her work career in the insurance industry. She retired as a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter with 30 years of service at Great American Insurance Company in Raleigh, NC.

She had a sincere love for helping others to live a more productive and enjoyable life. Claire was devoted to her love of family and especially enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family. She also enjoyed traveling. As an active member of the Wake Forest Church of God, she served as Sunday School teacher, President of Young at Heart Club, and a member of the Senior Choir. Claire was also active in the community. She served on the Board of Directors for the Wake Forest Historical Association and was a past member of the Wake Forest Woman’s Club.

Claire is survived by her son, Danny Lee Burchett of Wake Forest, a sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Griffin of Asheboro, brothers, Charles (Buck) Wall of Raleigh and Gary Wall (Brenda) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., special nieces, nephews and their families.

A funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon January 10, 2022 at the Wake Forest Church of God 155 Cedar Avenue Wake Forest, NC with the Rev. Philip Lyon and Rev. Mike Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wake Forest Church of God Building Fund.
