G. Wayne Joyner

George Wayne Joyner, 77, of Raleigh, passed away Friday evening, December 31, 2021. He was born in Nashville NC, the son of the late George Francis Joyner and Katie Fern Crocker Joyner. He retired from Westinghouse/ABB after 39 years. Wayne was a devoted husband, dad, granddaddy and great granddaddy. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family, and loved the outdoors and going to all the many family events. He was a faithful member of Rolesville Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gwen Ricks Joyner; sons, Michael Wayne Joyner and daughter-in-law, Kim Hawkins Joyner, and Robert Kevin Joyner, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Waterhouse Joyner; grandchildren, Caitie Harry and husband, Jake Harry, Christopher Joyner and fiancé, Lauren Hartman, Grayson Joyner and Anna Joyner; great-grandson, Luke Harry; sister-in-law, Margaret Joyner, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded by his brother, Al Francis Joyner, and his sister, Bobbie Jean Frazier.

Due to Covid, there will be a private graveside service on Thursday.
