George Robert Smith

George Robert Smith, 70, of Wake Forest passed away Monday, September 27, 2021.  He was born October 24, 1950 in Jacksonville, NC.  His mother, Doretta Frenna Smith, father, William Jesse Smith and brother, Patrick Smith preceded him in death.

Mr. Smith was a Store and District Manager for Kerr Drug and Ace Hardware stores.  He enjoyed woodworking, collecting antiques and restoring old cars.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda K. Smith, daughters, Allison Benitez (Juan) of Raleigh NC, Susan Byrd (Jeff) of St. Louis, step daughters, Sandy Williamson of Wake Forest, NC, Jenny Bailey (John) of Stovall NC, Kimberly Lewis (Jay) of Cary, NC, grandchildren, Ian, Lillian, Logan, Bentley, Will, Bryson, Parker, Seth, Katie and Isaac, siblings, Frank Smith of Lexington, KY, Anna Grover of White River Junction, VT, Rosemary Smith of Lillington, NC, Eddie Smith of Fuquay-Varina, NC, John Smith of New Bern, NC and Michael Smith of Charlotte, NC.

There will be a private service held for the family.
