Geraldine A. (Martinko) Roward

Geraldine A. Roward, age 86 of Wake Forest, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 1, 1936 to Edward and Mary (Dzik) Martinko.

Geraldine was a registered nurse for many years in Ohio at St. John Hospital, caring for her patients as if they were family. Gerry was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh. She was an excellent homemaker, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Thomas Roward of Wake Forest; sister Janice Medina;  five children, daughter Mary Jefferson, son David Roward and wife Lisa Roward, son Timothy Roward and wife Gretchen Roward, daughter Julie Bayard, son James Roward and wife Patricia Roward;  twelve grandchildren, Noah, Nicole, Julian, Tracy, Lauren, Emily, Zachary, Jill, Charlie, Camille, Hannah, Jack.

The family will be receiving friends from 12 noon till 1pm. A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at 1 P.M. In the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Parish Outreach Food Pantry, 2013 Raleigh Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27604, in her memory.
