Glenn Gray Kline

Glenn Gray Kline, 70, of Salvo, NC, passed away and was welcomed into her heavenly home on September 25, 2021 at The Covington Assisted Living in Raleigh, NC. She was born January 16, 1951 in York, SC.

While attending Myers Park High School, everyone knew Glenn by her nickname, “Sandy” and would often come to her for relationship advice.
She worked for many years in Charlotte for the Esteps who owned B-Kleen cleaners. Glenn made many special friends during the several years she lived in the Outer Banks. Always a great cook, she worked at the Salvo Market making breakfast for locals and vacationers. People would take the long drive down to Salvo, NC just to have a good breakfast from the “Biscuit Lady.”

She loved country music and often sang along with one of her favorites, Conway Twitty. Glenn had an infectious laugh and always seemed to instantly light up a room anywhere she went. She loved the beach and especially enjoyed basking in the sun; though, surprisingly she never learned how to swim. 

Glenn adored her family!  There are many memories of everyone spending time together at the beach, by the pool, at the movies, the Fish Camp, Mom’s house, and Dad’s family parties.

Glenn was preceded in death by her father, Chandler James; sister, Donna Barbour (Billy); brother, Doug James (Janice) and Tonya James (niece).

She is survived by her husband, Ron Kline; mother, Glenna James; sons David Barbour-White (Chad) and Robbie Helms (Jennifer); brothers Alan James (Rusty) and Donnie James (Dana); sisters Michele Pruyn (David) and Jenny Wayne (Eric); as well as many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Amedisys Hospice for their tender, loving care of Glenn in the final days of her life.
