Gloria Jean Alford

Gloria Jean Alford, 92, died Monday, May 22, 2023 at her home in Wake Forest.  A funeral service will be held at Bright Funeral Home Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm followed by a burial service at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home.

Gloria was born June of 1930 in Baltimore and grew up with her six brothers and sisters.  She was married in 1960 to her Husband of 62 years William (Bill) Alford.  They moved from the Baltimore area to Miami, Florida after Bill got out of the Army and eventually they settled in Wake Forest for the rest of their lives.  

Gloria's interests were her family, traveling in their RV to the North Carolina Beaches, Florida and other places. She loved to be in the sunny weather in the yard, at the beach or in a sun tanning bed.  She also enjoyed the gym and her many friends.  She always had a smile on her face and a friendly greeting to all she met.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Handy, her son, Rodney Alford and her wonderful grand-children and great grand-children.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill and Daughter Vickie.
