Gloria Ferne (Hall) Matthews

Gloria Ferne Matthews age 80 of Youngsville, NC, formerly Lake Grove, NY passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021. She was born in Jamaica Queens, New York on February 9, 1941 to Fern Huntington Wilman and Arthur Bruce Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Robert A. Matthews who died March 6, 2020. She is survived by her three children Robert, Dianne and John with wife Meredith; her brother Arthur B. Hall Jr.; beloved Nana to five grandchildren Brittany, Celina, Cassandra, Christopher and Merry Grace. Gloria will always be remembered as a great listener providing comfort and encouragement to those in need. She had a deep and abiding love for all of God’s creatures and will be missed by her Foxhound Honey.

A visitation will be held in Bright Funeral Home 405 S. Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587 on Saturday, December 4th at 10:30AM. Burial will be at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
