Graham B. Gray

December 11, 1940 ~ July 3, 2019 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Tribute

Graham B. Gray of Raleigh, joined his heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019. He was born December 11, 1940 in Stokes, a son of the late John Gray and Blanche (Congleton) Gray. Graham was predeceased by his brother Reginald Gray.

Graham is survived by his wife, Brenda Gray, his children: Denise Love and husband Joel, Regina Johnston and husband Jay, Tammy Price and husband Brian, Gina Smith, Denise Edwards, and Jack Milam; and his brother Dr. John Gray, Jr. He is also survived by grand kids: Jared and Kristen, Sean and Montana, Zach, Megan, Brendan, Brett, Skyler and Kiley; and also five great grandkids: Mason, Liam, Shepherd, Amelia and Micah.

Born and raised in Stokes; Graham was the youngest of three boys. After graduating from East Carolina University with a BS in Industrial Technology he moved to Virginia and then Louisiana, before finally settling back to Raleigh, to be close to his family. He worked in chemical water treatment sales with several companies before he retired to do his own consulting.

Graham was an active member of Richland Creek Community Church. He loved God and his family like none other. He made friends with strangers and was quick to pray for a need. He is known for his kind heart, ready laugh, constant stories and desire to be a famous banjo player (that should make you smile). He shared his love of music by picking a guitar/banjo with his grand kids and his love of napping by viciously snoring in his recliner for all to enjoy. His vocal rendition of “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” moved people to tears. He enjoyed a good game of golf, catching fish and chatting with anyone who would listen. He would hold an audience of one captive with his stories. He shared all his experiences (good and bad) with his grand kids in hopes they could learn from his life. He was loved by all who knew him and celebrated as a man of God.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Richland Creek Community 3229 Burlington Mills Rd, Wake Forest.
