RALEIGH
Israel “Izzy” Benjamin Horton, 44, passed away on Sunday morning October 20, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Wake County the son of Cathy Carroll and Gene Horton.
Izzy was a lifelong resident of Wake Forest, NC. He held the position of kicker for Wake Forest-Rolesville High School Cougars during his junior and senior year. He was proud of his team as they won back to back State 1A Championship titles the last 2 years and attended as many games as he could. He then graduated with a degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from NC State University where he continued and furthered his passion for Wolfpack athletics. He worked for many years in the food and beverage industry and was currently employed as a Moving Estimator for All My Sons Moving and Storage. Above all, he felt his life’s greatest accomplishment was his three amazing children. He loved nothing more than spending as much time as possible with his family.
He was a graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville HS class of 1993 and a graduate of NC State University class of 2000. He was a long time member of Richland Creek Community Church.
Izzy enjoyed golf, he was a lifetime NC State Fan and an Avid Football Fan.
A funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon October 23 at the Richland Creek Community Church. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Town Cemetery.
Izzy is survived by his loving wife; Carol Ann Horton and the children he adored, his son; Cameron Israel Horton 14, and his daughters; Payton Audriann Horton 10 and Alaine Wise Horton 5, his father and stepmother; Gene and Judy Horton of Wake Forest, his mother; Cathy Carroll of Lillington, sister; Terrie Carroll of Clayton, step-brothers; Alan Carroll and wife Sheila of Parkersburg, WV, Greg Carroll and wife Aimee of Raleigh, Mike Carroll and wife Renee of Raleigh.
