James Franklin Carter, 85, of Franklinton, passed away at his home
Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was born November 18, 1932 in Johnson City, Tennessee a son of the late Riley and Ella (Owensby) Long. Jimmie was predeceased by a son, Michael James Carter.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest.
Jimmie was a Marine thru and thru, “Semper Fidelis”, he fought in the Korean War. Jimmie was a proud American, and he had the biggest and kindest heart. He was affectionately known as Jimmy, Lucky, Dad, Daddy, Jim, Grandpa, Gray and Great Gray.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Carter, his children: Patricia Carter Feindt of Woodsboro, VA, Tim Carter and wife Cathy of Falmouth, Virginia, Bonnie Tucker and Husband Rick of Winter Haven, FL, and Betty Sines and Husband Donnie of Franklinton, NC.
Jimmy leaves a legacy of 14 grandchildren, 25 ½ great grand Children, and 1 great-great grandson.
